Emerging recording artist $onny is carving out a unique lane with a sound rooted in emotion, honesty, and lived experience. Born in Toronto, he spent much of his childhood moving between Toronto and Los Angeles, shaping a dual-city influence that reflects in his music. Growing up, he was heavily inspired by artists like The Weeknd and Drake, whose styles helped define his artistic direction. While they were not together at the time, the calculated nature of the situation fueled a wave of heartbreak that now lives within his music. This pain directly inspired his EP *“Lost in lust,”* a project centered around love, deception, and emotional confusion. The title itself reflects the realization that what once felt like love was ultimately something far more empty and destructive.
Having started his music journey in May 2025, $onny quickly built momentum with his debut track “I’ll Be Okay,” produced and engineered by Jaeonthebeat alongside Las Vegas artist Carat. Since then, he has developed strong creative chemistry with key collaborators including BenjiFranks and RedCoatKid, forming the core team behind his evolving sound. Jaeonthebeat, the first producer he worked with in Las Vegas, helped him recognize his potential, leading to the creation of nearly 50 songs together. Meanwhile, RedCoatKid, based out of Arizona and working from Sound Valley Studio, has contributed to crafting several standout records, while producer Djflippp has also played a role in his previous work, including the EP *Searching for Your Love*.
With his latest EP *“Lost in lust”* featuring five tracks that explore love and heartbreak, $onny is focused on consistency, growth, and visibility. His mindset is simple—keep releasing music, performing, and building a strong team while staying true to his passion. He is set to take the stage at Rap Arena Competition on March 14, 2026, where industry figures including Rick Ross are expected to be present, followed by another performance at Backstage Bar & Billiards on March 29 hosted by DJ Shakespeare. Driven by lines like, “I need something real, something I can fucking feel,” $onny channels authenticity into every record he creates. With unwavering belief in his talent and a relentless work ethic, he remains confident that one breakthrough hit is all it will take to put him firmly on the map.
