A Queen’s coronation is a beautiful sight, and Akeishein is here to claim her throne with Black Girl Magic.
Hailing from Inglewood, the city that birthed legendary championship teams, she’s showing her title chops with the moving new single.
She shines on the song’s music video, glowing from her vivid wordplay and the inspiring message celebrating generations of magic passed among Black women.
Her mother was a poet and spoken word performer, and the visuals pay homage to the lifelong bonds Black women have cultivated since childhood. Serene scenes of vibrant colors and kids at play juxtapose with later somber verses to highlight the many dangers Black women face on the journey to reach the height of their dreams.
