With the start of 2018 in full swing everyone’s mind seems to be on new opportunities and bettering themselves. Such is the case for Jackson, MS based MC Jo’De Boy but not as much because of the calendar year. A life filled with trials and tribulations has led him to become a better version of himself than there has ever been and this is evident on his new project “8: New Beginnings”.
Lined with narration from poet Amanda Furdge, the full length album takes us into the mind of Jodeci Mayfield as a person and Jo’De Boy the artist. A certain duality of struggles and victories line not only the artwork but also the music contained. Vocally Jo’De sets himself apart with a sharp flow, unique tone and a strong lyrical presence.
