(New Exclusive Interview) Tiffany Veney Talks Everything With Hip Hop Rap Scene
Breakdown how you came up with the name for your company and what does the name mean to you?
I was brainstorming trying to find a name that was a reflection on me in some way. I started thinking of things or moments that were important to me and then I thought about where I grew up. The name Madison Street is actually the name of the street that I was raised on.
Tiffany Veney a residential/commercial contractor and interior designer in Baltimore, Maryland. Breakdown what that means for the people who do not know and what are some of the day to day activities that come with the job?
My day to day activities range quite a bit because although design and construction are related they’re still very different. I could be out getting construction materials, sourcing materials/fixtures online, shopping for materials in store, contacting vendors, on the job site making sure the crew is on task, pulling permits, answering calls, emails, etc.
Are you looking to do business in other states and cities, outside of Maryland? And what does that like?
Yes. I’d love to work all over the world. I love traveling and seeing the different types of architecture and style. For contracting, I’d need to be licensed in that state to perform those services; however, I could go as a consultant which does not require additional licensing. For design, I can practice anywhere and also some design services can be performed virtually.
How has the environment you grow up in, affected the way you do business or has it?
The environment I grew up in shaped my character which in turn shows up in my business. I believe in accountability, keeping my word, and showing up as myself.
Top 5 bucket list things you must do before you turn 60 years old?
The Top 5 things I must do before 60 would be to become a developer, create a remodeling school, develop a community based youth program in several states, design an island hotel space, and become an equestrian.
What other business ventures do you have right now?
