O.V. Represents Spanish Roots With “Pegate” | @OV139th

In a small period of time, O.V. turned Uptown Manhattan, upside down and took the Dominican Republic by storm. Following the strong buzz his first two Spanish singles, “Ay Mama” and “Eso Ehh” garnered in the Dominican Republic, O.V. was able to bring Hip-hop, Spanish Hip-Hop and Rap to a higher level. With every TV and radio station reaching out to him, the whole country was able to see and hear what the craze has been all about. “I had fans at the airport and my first live televised interview was at the airport! After that, straight to San Pedro De Macorís,where my father is from, to do more live television followed by radio interviews back to back. That, right there, showed me I was in for something special.”
Sábado De Corporan, a LIVE- nationally televised show in Santo Domingo and broadcasted in the U.S., was the next stop the following morning. Three songs and for a new artist, an unprecedented 20-minute interview with Corporan De Los Santos, the phones couldn’t stop ringing. With the country’s leading beer company Presidente lending their support, La Romana, Higuey, and Santiago were among the next cities to feel the impact. “I was only there a week and the demand was overwhelming. I did every show humanly possible, performed in as many venues as I could. I know people who have gone there and didn’t get that love. I guess real does recognize real.”
O.V.’s stage presence and obvious confidence behind a microphone comes from years of performing in numerous world renowned clubs such as New York’s China Club, Club Morocco, up and down the East Coast, Puerto Rico, and Honduras. “Every place I’ve gone, I’ve left a good impression. Though it’s not easy, but I don’t cheat people. I let the product speak for itself,” proudly stated by the artist.
Pegate means to come close. “When you see me in the club, Pegate / You only say hello to them rich folks, Pegate / I want you slide off wit me, Pegate”
“Pegate” was written by O.V. on an old Jamaican riddim remixed by producer Yaiverson. Eddiel applied his vocal on the chorus to add the final touches to a song that proves to be magical.
“Pegate” is off the mixtape titled Pimpin Made Simple aka P.M.S. mixtape released this year. O.V., while filming “Pegate” visuals, released the visual to “Work It” the first single off the P.M.S. mixtape. The P.M.S. mixtape is made up of 10 English tracks and 5 bonus tracks that are in Spanish. O.V. has worked with producer master minds like Sauce, who did most the production on the P.M.S., as well as Mr. Amazing, Kace the Producer and Beats Academy. In 2017, O.V. has plans to share with the world his diversity and commitment to the craft of his passion – music.
