STOP THE VIOLENCE. END THE KILLINGS. LETS BEGIN WITH
PEACE.

While a wave of protests erupted recently over the killing of George Floyd,
New Jersey hip hop artist “OnlyJahmez” decided to drop a single titled

“George Floyd (lil piggy)” in his honor, which crosses many socio-political
lines. The Clayton, New Jersey native is not only known for his creative
versatility, but his unique role as an activist in today’s society.

The song explores the mistreatment of people of color at the hands of the
police in America. “OnlyJahmez” illustrates the need for a sense of community
between police and minorities, in order to find solidarity. The question is, what
can be done to repair the cycle of mistrust between law enforcement and ones
of color?
