(New Exclusive Interview) Ciana Pelekai Talks Music With Hip Hop Rap Scene

1. What do you feel you bring different to the music industry?

I bring me. I bring growing up in Hawaii and a different perspective from coming from Hawaii and the Hawaiian culture and my city. I am unique and different from other artist.

2. Do you have any other business ventures outside of music?
I have a job where I do character look alikes for a company in Las Vegas. My job is to attend different events around Las Vegas, for kids, weddings, balls etc.. and of course playing their favorite character that they asked for. My number one character is Moana and for Moana we play games & sing my number song “How far I’ll go”

3. “Bluff” is a very powerful record that is great. Who does this record speak to?
I believe this song is very powerful and speaks out to anyone. I feel like through this song many people have gone through this type of phase throughout their life, where they are at a point where they like/love someone but they pretend or fake their love for you as well. This song can encourage those who are afraid to let go and find their inner strength, also be strong through the tough times. It’s upbeat so I want everyone to just have fun!

4. Who do you feel is Ciana Pelekai core audience and what do they look like?
I feel like my core audience is everyone, from the ages of 4 years all the way up to 50 because I believe I have something to offer to everyone from my own personal life journey and within the stories I can tell I feel like everyone can relate.

5. How did you come up with the name “Ciana Pelekai” and what does your name mean?

Ciana Pelekai is my real name Ciana Means God is Gracious My parents chose ciana because they said it was a unique name. Pelekai is a Hawaiian name, pele is one of the goddess of Hawaii, the goddess that creates fire, volcanoes and the Hawaiian islands and kai means water or sea

6. What are your plans for the summer of 2019?
My plans are to work on more new projects. Also start continuing my promo tour that I will be having in Hawaii & hopefully in other states as well! My goal for the end of the summer is to hopefully be a huge impact for the younger generation and start to build up my singing career.
