Southern California artist YREVA brings hopeful positivity with
new album ‘Hidden Gems of Love’
PALMDALE, CA – Refreshing. Original. Real.
These are all words that have been used to describe one of Southern California’s hottest new hip-hop artists, YREVA – which stands for “You Receive Eternal Visions Abundantly.” The young man from Palmdale has a positive and uplifting vibe to his music that connects with people in ways that are reminiscent of Kendrick Lamar, 2Pac or J.Cole. But though he is deeply honored by comparisons to those legends, he’s also proud of paving his own lane and becoming known for his own unique sound and style.
“It’s a compliment to be compared to them, but I want to reach my own lane and not be like anybody else,” YREVA said. “That’s what my music is all about – being real and being yourself. I want to help people find their purpose in life. I want to help them believe in themselves. Positivity is key – it’s what makes the world go around. So my music will always encourage people not to give up. Hope is always alive if you believe. That’s my main objective.”
That theme is paramount on YREVA’s new album, “Hidden Gems of Love,” which was released in mid-July and is already getting some heavy plan with fans along the West Coast. It’s a project that explores ideas around love, self-consciousness, self-awareness, positivity, relationships and all of the things of everyday life. As with all of his music, the album is very uplifting and has lyrics and a sound that will connect with every type of demographic.
Prior to the album release, YREVA had dropped two singles – “Pray for You” and “Shattered Love” – both of which have seen modest success. But since the album has dropped, he said the single that’s getting the most attention is “Power In Motion.”
“It’s very soothing and mellow and people really love it,” he said. “It’s basically about a female going through the struggle, trying to find her way in life and trying to fit in. She’s trying to stay true to herself, and the power in motion will come to manifestation. It’s about staying true to yourself. If you know you can do it, you shall achieve.”
YREVA said music has always been a part of his life. His father was a musician who had a band and played multiple instruments. By age 10, YREVA was following in his father’s footsteps – writing his own songs and performing for others whenever he could. He recorded his first song at age 13, and by age 16 he was making a name for himself with the albums “Unread Message” and “Just Listen Vol. 1.”
Being an inspired and conscious hip-hop artist, YREVA knows that he is destined to impact the world. His passion lies in preserving real hip-hop for upcoming generations, so as not to confuse this true art with mumble rap. His music explores themes of moral and societal issues, all while trying to connect with a wide variety of people with the goal of being a source of hope for better days for all his listeners.
